Come fish aboard our 30' Wellcraft Scarab "a go fast center console fishing machine." Fishing reports. June 13, 2010. Our boat has been going on the water 3-4 days per week, we have been primarily fishing 12-15 miles from shore for the early Cod.
We have had great sucess, with many huge cod in the 30- 50 lb range! each trip our guest have filled there cooler. It has been a great year, so far. I have been getting pretty good reports from the merrimack river striper fishing, we will soon be moving on to the "Stripas". Best Capt. Steve
Three striper trips this week, live bait is abundant, some large fish taken in the Merrimack River.
Five keepers yesterday,(1) 42" 30 lb. cow yesterday". lots of striper trips this week, chunk bait is feeding the bass on the fast moving tides, some large fish taken in the Merrimack River.
keepers every day. Have lots of pics to post!! when i stop fishing....Going offshore on Saturday...Will report". Sorry i haven't posted pictures! have many great shots of the stripers we've caught. When i am not taking charters, i am tuna fishing, or should i say "tuna wishing". Been out about 6 times... seen many fish jumping on small baits, but as of now no Tuna... It's a difficult fish to catch! but it's still early! MANY STRIPERS ARE BEING CAUGHT ON LIVE BAIT IN THE DEEP WATER. Being patient and sitting on a ball you will catch large size Bass! The Cod and Haddock fishing has been pretty good. More Haddock than cod the last few trips. First Tuna of the year a nice 70" 200+ lb fish after a 45 min fight the fish was released unharmed! They sure do battle. This is going to be a great year for Tuna.. Wow what a day 20+ market cod all within.. 15 miles of the beach, With a 2-3 foot chop we decided to stop short at one of my inside spots........ Glad i did...... Lots of keeper cod on bait... a few Haddock and one large Pollack. Still Tuna Wishing........seen many suface feed action in close.... mostly to the south off thatchers Island, and the rock pile. Still pretty good bass action in the Merrimack, and a few spots offshore Striper action has slowed down a bit offshore, probably too many tuna driving them off. Many good size Cod & Haddock being taken on bait, especially when we are able to drift. Light winds all this week should make for great fishing. trips thursday friday Sat. & Sun. I will let you know. |
